The children in Year 3/4 are settling well into the new school year, enjoying catching up with old friends and making new ones.
We have an exciting term ahead of us, and plan to have fun learning about, amongst other things, Anglo-Saxon and Viking history and the human body. In English, our work will include reading and writing traditional and alternative Fairy Tales, investigating how characters are portrayed in stories, and writing news reports. We will continue to develop our knowledge and understanding of the number system and of fractions, develop our calculating skills and secure our numerical fluency in general.
Next week we will be enjoying: ‘The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig’ by Eugene Trivizas and Helen Oxenbury. As a fantastic alternative version of a well-known story, it will be a great stimulus and provide lots of opportunities for writing.
Useful information and guidance for parents will be provided at the Parents’ Meeting on Tuesday 16th at 6.30 pm.
